Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS, also known as DIFFA, has grown significantly over the years that the 2015 DIFFA Dining By Design New York was held at Pier 92. Spanning over 30,000 square feet DIFFA’s new location, which coincides with the Architectural Digest Home Design Show at Pier 94 was filled with stunning dining vignettes by the industry’s celebrated designers and talent. The dining installations were extravagant, striking and imaginative yet inspired and delighted guests and helped to raise over $750,000 during the 5-day event. This year’s theme, “All Together Now”, “Together all for DIFFA” integrated the leaders in the industry and the power of design. The affair kicked off with Cocktails By Design, an evening where designers and guests schmoozed and explored the installations and their inspiration while sampling delectable treats from some of New York City’s top restaurants including Indochine and STK and sipped cocktails fashioned by Oster Bay and Patrón Tequila. The closing event featured the DINING BY DESIGN GALA, where guests were invited to take a seat at the table and dine amongst the impressive installations. This year’s list of designers included Ralph Lauren, Hermes, Fendi Casa, Kitty Hawks for Spin Ceramics, and Stacy Garcia.

Airweave Opens Flagship in New York

The City That Never Sleeps may get some rest thanks to Airweave, a leading brand of premium bedding toppers and pillows in Japan. They have opened their first US retail flagship store located at 498 Broome Street in SoHo. The 2,400 square foot space offers a modest, clean and contemporary design equipped with a private room for elite customers to undergo sleep assessments and a personal shopping experience. Airweave is recognized to minimize strain on joints and reduce restlessness while sleeping producing a life-enhancing sleep experience leaving customers refreshed upon waking. To fete, a private cocktail event was held with President and CEO Motokuni Takaoka and 2014 Olympic Gold Medalist Ice Dancers Meryl Davis and Charlie White, whom are Airweave brand ambassadors. Airwaves products range from $190 to $1,570, and can also be purchased online .

Sean “Diddy” Combs Launches 3AM Fragrance

Music mogul and entrepreneur Sean John Combs, is entering the fragrance arena again this time with his latest scent, 3AM scheduled to hit counters in May. Since nothing good happens after 2, we are quite intrigued. The Social NY has learned that 3AM is the moment of decision where anything can happen and all is forgiven. As the fragrance notes, at 3AM, a pulse of light shines and there is a realization that your night is not quite over. The fragrance includes notes of bergamot, mandarin, cardamom, geranium, fig leaves and orange blossom. “Fragrance is truly a passion of mine and I have always said that it is the finishing touch to anyone’s outfit and mood, “ noted Combs. “For my newest scent, 3AM, I have combined the most luxurious ingredients to create a fragrance that draws everyone close to you while washing away your sins. Tourneau, the luxury watch retailer opened its third Manhattan store at 3 Bryant Park, on the corner of 6th Avenue and 42nd To mark the occasion, and to kick off the brand’s 115th Anniversary celebration, a ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Monday with Tourneau’s CEO Ira Melnitsky, and SVP of Retail, Larry Barkley and TONY award actor Jefferson Mays. The newest space is 3,330 square foot and features over 17 premiere luxury watch brands. Rolex, Cartier, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Panerai, IWC, Breitling, Tudor and Longines have their own in-store shops. Additional brands include Franck Muller, GlashütteOriginal, Bell and Ross, Devon, Bucherer, Nomos, Frederique Constant, Hamilton, Ball Watch and Casio and Tourneau’s own watch brand, TNY, and their Certified Pre-Owned timepiece collection. In honor of the new location, Tourneau is offering a promotion where customers making a purchase over $3,000 at the Bryant Park store will receive two tickets to A Gentleman’s Guide To Love & Murder. Tourneau is part of the retail emergence to revive the area into luxury retail shopping district, which will include cult favorite SoulCycle and a café/food hall Whole Foods.
