Thursday night the French Embassy on Fifth Avenue at 79th street played host along with Ines de la Fressange & Bruno Frisoni to a gathering to celebrate Roger Vivier’s new book, published by Rizzoli New York.

The embassy was transformed into a charming setting, adorned with candles and flowers along the stairs up into an exhibition displaying images from the book. The exhibition transported viewers on a voyage through the creation of Roger Vivier, past and present. For the event a showcase was made for the Limited-Edition Prismick shoulder bag in crocodile along with the Comma heel pump, that was re-launched by Frisoni (Fall/Winter 2013-2014 collection) from the original 1963 design by Vivier.

The book encompasses photography of the house’s collection of vintage shoes, rendered sketches along with essays by Olivier Saillard, Virginie Mouzat, and conversations between Ines de la Fressange, Bruno Frisoni, Cate Blanchett, and Roger Vivier.

Guests including Coco Rocha, Tracee Ellis Ross, Arianna Huffington, Linda Fargo, and Stefano Tonchi mingled while enjoying tunes spun by DJ Harley Viera-Newton. Later, a special performance by Karen Elson made this evening’s gathering intimate and elegant.
